You know the song performed by the legendary Marilyn Monroe in the classic film “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”.   While it’s easy to dismiss this song for being about gold-digging and shallow women, I choose to view it in a more empowering way. Diamonds really are a girl’s best friend because like all BFFs, we can learn a thing or two from these sparkling gems…

  • Diamonds have different shapes. Round, oval, square, pear, triangle, marquise……… All the shapes are STRONG and expressive. I, for one, am pear-shaped and proud!
  • Diamonds come in a variety of colors. White, brown, black, yellow, red, pink, even, purple, green and blue!!! Diamonds represent all the colors of the rainbow and all are naturally VIBRANT and BEAUTIFUL!
  • Diamonds have flaws – both internal (inclusions) and external (blemishes). Not one of them is perfect and this is just an accepted fact.   Being evaluated under a bright light and magnifying glass doesn’t change the diamond — they just continue being what they are – PRECIOUS GEMS.
  • Diamonds are formed under high pressure and heat – that is the secret to their STRENGTH and BRILLIANCE!
  • Diamonds are multifaceted and multidimensional.   One facet or dimension is not more important than the other — all contribute to their SPARKLE and SHINE!
